Spring

by Shayma Parveen

Slowly, winter fades away

Like all others before today

And spring comes to view of all

To those whom are short

And those whom are tall

Leave-less trees gain their leaves

Many colors fill the place

From white to pink

As an empty page is filling with ink

Colorful flowers start to grow

Melted from ice

Creeks and rivers start to flow

Sun peeks out half hidden by a cloud

Seeing winter has passed

It comes out proud

Animals awake

From their long and deep sleep

Getting up again and peeking out

Happily birds go out to chirp and cheep

And slowly spring flies away

But to return again another day
